Wondergat, or the Molopo Oog (Eye), is situated close to Mafikeng. It as a natural pool with undeterminable depth. Due to this it is a potentially dangerous place to dive for anyone who can not control their buoyancy well. With only two grids, both at +-33 meters, and a long drop for those who miss the grids, it is none the less a very popular training site. As it contains a couple of very deep caves it is also favoured by technical divers.

Wondergat, as you can see from the pictures below, is carved out of solid rock walls up to 15 meters high. This makes for a spectacular view. Entry is via a narrow gully. Cement steps assist with foot placing. Entry is very easy via the gentle (initial) slope of the rock plate at the bottom of the steps. There is also an underwater steel step ladder but it is used mostly by kids playing there (It is a safe snorkeling site).
Hundreds of small, curious fish greet you when you enter the water and they can be found right around the Gat in shallower waters (up to 15 meters). There are also barbell and even a couple of Koi fish.
